5. It’s only the second all-wheel-drive car Ferrari has ever built

An all-wheel-drive Ferrari probably would have seemed like blasphemy not all the long ago, but the FF, pictured above, blew that notion out of the water when it was introduced in 2011. Now the FF’s replacement has arrived in the form of the GTC4Lusso.

4. It’s not the first Ferrari to wear the GTC4 name

The 365 GTC/4 was introduced in 1971 as a more practical 2+2 alternative to the sportier 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Only 505 examples were built. The 4 in both cars’ names refers to their four-seat cockpits.

3. It steers using all four wheels

Ferrari’s 4RM all-wheel-steering system debuted recently in the F12tdf and has now found a second home in the GTC4Lusso. Working in tandem with the all-wheel-drive system, Ferrari claims it offers unrivaled stability and performance in all conditions.

Just when you thought Ferrari’s quad taillamp configuration was gone forever, it has made a comeback with the GTC4Lusso. Ferrari says they complement the quad exhaust exits, and we agree.

1. It might be the fastest hatchback ever

The GTC4Lusso combines the practicality of a Volkswagen Golf with the V12 fury of a front-engine Ferrari. Its 6.3-liter engine produces 680-hp and 514 lb-ft of torque. The sprint to 60 mph comes in 3.4 seconds and it tops out at 208 mph.
