Lotus Fans Choose Color Scheme of Limited-Edition Evora 400
Lotus has rolled out a new limited-production Evora 400 and it let its fans choose the color scheme.
The British automaker looked to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to crowd source the answer to the question: which color scheme is best? Though it started as a simple poll, Lotus received so many responses that they decided to build the winning car.
Eventually fans decided on the blue and orange scheme you see above, an homage to the classic racing colors seen on Lotus cars in the 1960s. Inside, black leather is finished with orange contrast stitching, while black forged wheels and red calipers complete the car’s look.
This is yet another car to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lotus factory and headquarters in Hethel, England.

“Any one of the designs in the poll would have been a worthy winner. So now that the poll has finished and with thousands of votes cast, we have decided that the winner will make it into production,” said Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales. “We only plan to build 10 of these Evora 400 sports cars in total so with their rarity, I expect them to quickly become very desirable.”
While all 10 of these cars will no doubt sell out instantly, Lotus is using the car as an example of what its customization arm, Lotus Exclusive, is capable of.
For those that need a quick refresher, the Evora 400 gets its power from a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and 301 lb-ft of torque. The car weighs just 3075 pounds, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.
