The Aston Martin Vanquish will get a hotter version before the next-generation model arrives.

The current Vanquish will be replaced by a DB11-based version in 2018, but it appears before that happens, an Aston Martin Vanquish S will be offered. Spied testing near the Nurburgring, this particular prototype features more aggressive styling on its newly-designed bumpers as well as a quad exhaust setup in the rear. Spotted between the four exhaust tips is a more aggressive rear diffuser.

Before the first-generation Aston Martin Vanquish bowed out, the British automaker offered a more powerful “S” model with a slightly different aerodynamic package. So it’s no surprise the company is doing the same with the current Vanquish and you can expect to see an increase in power as well. Aston Martin is already using a more powerful version of its V12 engine in the Zagato model with 590 horsepower, so it’s likely the Vanquish S will get the same powerplant.
