The Kia Niro hybrid drove 3,715.4 miles on just 4.1 tanks of gas.

Officially receiving a Guinness World Record title when it arrived at New York City Hall in downtown Manhattan, the 2017 Kia Niro set a new world record by achieving an incredible 76.6 mpg while driving coast to coast in a hybrid car.

The record-setting Niro EX was driven by Wayne Gerdes of Carlsbad, California along with co-driver Robert Winger of Williamsburg, Virginia. The total trip used only 48.5 gallons and the vehicle was not altered in any way for the attempt.
