Honda won the hearts of many (including us) with its cute little Urban EV concept it debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Honda’s not done yet with its lovable electric concepts, today teasing the Sports EV Concept ahead of its debut Tokyo Motor Show late next month. The Japanese automaker says the Sports EV has ” a striking silhouette, friendly face and supple body surfaces, all designed to ensure the car blends into any lifestyle.”

“The development team designed the sporty electric car to deliver a feeling of joy and emotional unity to the drive, achieved by efficiently combining the EV powerunit and AI technology in a compact bodyshape,” the automaker added.

It sounds as though the Sports EV will be a tiny, compact coupe that will use the same Honda Automated Network Assistant AI system as the Urban EV. The teaser image Honda provided also shows it will share styling cues with the well-received Urban EV, revealing its soft bodylines and rounded-off square taillamps. The Urban EV was inspired by the Honda N600 hatchback, and we think the Sports EV will pull inspiration from the Honda 1300 Coupe, which is from the same late 1960s/early 1970s era as the N600.

We’ll see Honda’s Sports EV in full next month. We can hardly wait.
