Subaru has debuted its new BRZ STI Sport at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show – the new Japanese exclusive range-topping BRZ.

While upgrades to the 205 hp flat-four boxer engine may be absent, its apex eating prowess has been accentuated by ride and handling upgrades courtesy of Subaru Tecnica International.

The changes start with a flexible V-brace which ties the front struts to the firewall, and new flexible draw stiffeners which links the front cross member and the body for added rigidity. Complimenting the newfound stiffness are a set of SACHS dampers and coil springs with STI magic sprinkled on top, which ups steering feel and suppresses body roll.

It rolls on new 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 215/40R18 high-performance rubber, arresting progress are new Brembo ventilated disc brakes at each corner.

There are a few mildly microwaved interior and exterior improvements. Outside there’s a new exclusive front bumper with STI ornamentation and glossy black fender garnishing, and black BRZ badging out back. Subaru says you can have the STI Sport painted in Crystal White, Pure Red, Ice Silver, Lapis Blue, Dark Grey, WR Blue, or Crystal Black.

The interior features Bordeaux red accents on the leather and Alcantara trimmed front buckets, STI embroidered headrests, red armrests, an STI edition TFT color multi-information display, along with red stitching on the steering wheel, dashboard, shift boot, and emergency brake.

There’s going to a special STI Sport Cool Grey Khaki Edition which will be limited to 100 units and sold by lottery in Japan.
