Certain 2018 Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC vehicles are being recalled for incorrect front brake jounce hoses.

Approximately 92 units are affected by the recall, with Ford explaining that incorrect front brake jounce hoses may encounter interference with adjacent components during normal usage, possibly resulting in premature wear. If that occurs, it could potentially lead to a brake fluid leak, resulting in extended stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash.

The American automaker is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.

The affected Ford Escape vehicles were built at Louisville Assembly Plant on October 29 to October 30, 2017. The 2018 Lincoln MKC vehicles were built at the same factory on October 29, 2017.

To resolve the issue, Ford and Lincoln dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the front right-hand and/or left-hand brake jounce hoses free of cost.

The recall involves 88 units in the U.S. and federalized territories, and four in Canada.
