A 1997 Aston Martin V8 Vantage that was ordered new by Sir Elton John is crossing the auction block.

With 8,663 miles on the odometer, the V8 Vantage is expected to fetch between £190,000 ($265,400 USD) to £240,000 ($335,250 USD) when it goes on sale at the Silverstone Auctions Race Retro Classic Car Sale on February 24-25. The hand-built V8 Vantage V550 was ordered new from the Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell by Sir Elton, sporting a black exterior and matching black leather interior.

Powering the V8 Vantage is a 5.3-liter V8 with twin Eaton superchargers, generating around 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. It’s capable of going zero-to-60 mph in 4.6 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 191 mph.

It is believed only 240 standard V550s were ever made, making the sports car a collectible regardless of who its previous owner was. But this particular unit once owned by Sir Elton John has been thoroughly maintained throughout its life, with the service book showing 19 stamps total. More recently, there are invoices for maintenance in 2015 at H.A. Fox Ltd, and considerable expenditure at respected marque specialist, Rikki Cann in 2016. There was also a full service and other work done last year.
