Having good visibility during the rain is important for safe driving. Keeping your windshield clear takes more than a good set of wipers, however.

They do help, though, and most companies recommend replacing them twice a year. Ice and snow can be destructive to wipers, and wipers alone can’t always keep your windshield clear. There is a great selection of products on the market today that can work with your wipers. One of them, Rain-X, is probably a familiar brand. But, do you really need more than just wipers? How much benefit does a product line like Rain-X have? Most importantly, does Rain-X really work?

In the fight against ice, snow, and rain, the answer is yes. More than just wipers or washer fluid, Rain-X has a selection of treatment products for automotive glass. Many owners who have made the switch to Rain-X find themselves buying more. Product reviews on Amazon are generally positive. Rain-X is one of the top brands for windshield treatment available today. Let’s take a look at what ways this line of products helps make life easier.

Wipers

One of the classic Rain-X items is wipers. There are several lines to choose from, each with added benefits. If you’re looking for a good OEM replacement wiper, Rain-X Weatherbeater wipers are where things get started. An excellent entry level blade that performs well in all seasons.

Latitude wiper blades are excellent winter blades, resisting ice and snow buildup. Better still, Latitidue Water Repellency wipers actually apply Rain-X water repellant to the windshield as they wipe. These durable wipers offer great value for owners already interested in treating their windshields.

Double check when buying wipers online to make sure they match your vehicle.

Glass Treatment

You don’t need to swap out your existing wipers to take advantage of Rain-X water repelling. Improving visibility in rain, snow, and ice, glass treatment is an easy way to make your vehicle safer. Add a bottle of Rain-X Glass Treatment to your car wash bin, and apply it by soft cloth once your window is cleaned. Use the larger spray bottle for easier application, or save yourself a step by using Rain-X’s two in one spray cleaner and repellant. To help keep the inside of your windows from fogging up, give them a quick treatment of the Anti-Fog spray.

Washer Fluid

Offering a variety of basic and water repellant washer fluids, Rain-X has a broad selection for drivers. However, it doesn’t matter which brand of washer fluid you have, you can still get water repelling treatment. Washer fluid additive can be added to your washer fluid reservoir and will start treating the windshield as soon as it’s used. Each bottle can treat up to four gallons of regular washer fluid. To quickly blast away thin windshield ice, use the Rain-X De-Icer washer fluid. It really works, cutting through frost quickly. Naturally, all of the water repelling benefits are contained here, too.

So Kat, Rain Ex pretty much totalled your car and your helmet. Wow!! Never heard any BS like that about a fantastic product. I detail cars as a side line and nothing but rave reviews about RainEx. Maybe you should find a good detailer...

What product are you talking about? At no time did Rain-x ever obscure my windshield. When it wore off, things just went back to normal. Are you using on plastic?
