Lamborghini Urus Plug-in Hybrid is Coming Soon
Italian automaker Lamborghini is set to unveil a plug-in hybrid version of the Urus SUV, its first-ever electrified vehicle.
In an interview with Drive, Lamborghini CTO Maurizio Reggiani confirmed its release date within the next 18 months. Initial specs include a 4.0-liter V8 with an electric motor for a minimum of 680 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque, the same drivetrain shared by the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
In the interview, Reggiani expressed the importance of diversification and brand value as a factor in confidently producing an electrified vehicle.

“We can sell the Urus because we have the Huracan and Aventador — without this brand value it is difficult to be credible, “ said Reggiani. “To be Lamborghini at the moment, it is important that we have this credibility from these models to build the Super Sports SUV in this way.”
In the interview, Reggiani also confirmed that the Huracan and Aventador will also be electrified due to tighter emissions controls. Its production dates have yet to be released, however.
