The New Toyota Century is Worth Every Penny of Its $178k Price
The new Toyota Century, first shown at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, has been priced from 19,600,000 yen in Japan – equivalent to just over $178,000 USD.
While that may seem expensive for Toyota, we’d wager the Century is worth every penny of its rather significant asking price. After all, where else can you get a modern-day sedan with 1990s looks, a 425 hp 5.0-liter hybrid V8 and wool upholstery?
The Century also has a number of truly luxurious features that are typically reserved for a Rolls-Royce or a Bentley. It has power adjustable rear seats, adjustable leg rests, a rear LCD panel for adjusting the climate control and audio settings, a writing table, a reading light, a rear-seat entertainment system and a 20-speaker audio system. There’s also active noise cancellation and specially developed tires for added quietness and comfort.

In addition to all this, the Century is also carefully assembled by a team of expert Japanese craftsmen, who also hand polish and apply the seven-layer paintwork.
The new Toyota Century is the first fully redesigned Century in over 21 years, Toyota says. It will go on sale in Japan in the near future – shame we won’t be getting it in North America.
