The McLaren Speedtail has been teased yet again.

This time the British automaker has shown off the forthcoming hypercar’s rear end. The teaser image gives us our best look yet at the Speedtail after the automaker showed off a few early design sketches for the McLaren F1 successor earlier in the year. The automaker also showed off a McLaren 720S based test mule for the vehicle, which you can see below.

The Speedtail will produce more than 986 hp and will eclipse the McLaren F1’s top speed of 243 mph. McLaren says the car will also feature an advanced, beautifully-crafted interior” with a centrally-mounted driving seat flanked by two passenger seats. Based on the image of the 720S-based prototype, it seems as though the vehicle will tap McLaren’s carbon fiber Monocell chassis as well.

Under the engine cover will likely be an evolved version of the automaker’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which will be paired with a hybrid system of some sort. You can think of it as an extra powerful take on the hybrid McLaren P1’s powertrain – but with a focus on top speed.

The Speedtail will make its official debut through McLaren’s website on October 26th at 8 a.m. EST. Just 106 examples of the supercar will be built (just 106 McLaren F1s were built) and all have already been sold at a price of£1.75million plus taxes, or $2.3 million USD. Production is set to begin at the end of 2019, with each car being built exactly to the customer’s tastes through McLaren Special Operations.
