The 2020 Toyota Supra appears to have leaked out, with images of the sports car, allegedly official ones from Toyota, surfacing online today.

These images are interesting, but many already knew what the 2020 Toyota Supra would look like thanks to the automaker’s rather unconventional promotional campaign for the sports car. The automaker brought a camouflaged example out to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the summer, giving us a very good idea of what it will look like, and later brought a racing version out to a VLN series race at the Nurburgring.

AutoGuide, along with other media outlets, even got seat time in a camouflaged Supra prototype on the track. Two images showing the front and rear fascias uncovered also surfaced recently, just in case we hadn’t seen enough of the two-seater yet.

The leaked images do mark the first time we’ve seen the Supra completely uncovered from both the front and back, though. There are some other interesting aspects of the vehicle pictured here as well, such as the ‘GR’ branding on the license plate. Toyota had hinted that it may use the ‘GR’ badge on the Supra and it looks as though it’s gone through with it, electing to name the vehicle the Toyota GR Supra. GR, if you didn’t already know, stands for Gazoo Racing – Toyota’s race team. It’s not clear if the GR branding will appear on North American version of the Supra, although it seems likely. As AutoGuide discovered in patent filings, Toyota recently moved to trademark the ‘GR’ logo in Canada.

Toyota released a recording of the Supra’s exhaust note (below) earlier this month, which sounds very BMW-like thanks to the car’s BMW-sourced turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. The 3.0-liter is expected to make well over 300 hp and will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also expect a curb weight lower than 3,300 lbs and a 0-60 mph time of under 5 seconds.

The 2020 Toyota Supra will make its official debut at the 2019 North American International Auto Show next month.
