2019 Mazda3 Sales Begin in March, Prices Start at $21,000

The 2019 Mazda3 has been priced from $21,000 in the United States for a front-wheel-drive sedan with the six-speed manual transmission. Destination adds $895 to the price of all models.

The hatchback, meanwhile, will start at $23,600 with front-wheel drive and the six-speed manual. The cheapest sedan with the six-speed automatic transmission will be the Mazda3 Select trim, which starts at $22,600. The cheapest hatchback available with the automatic, the better-equipped Preferred trim, is priced from $25,200.

Mazda’s predictive “i-Activ” all-wheel-drive system is also is available with the Select, Preferred and range-topping Premium trim levels. The cheapest all-wheel-drive Mazda3 will be the Select sedan, which starts at $24,000. The budget-minded Select trim won’t be offered on AWD hatchbacks, though, with the cheapest available AWD hatch being the $26,600 Preferred model. The manual transmission is not available on all-wheel-drive models, either.

The only available powertrain from launch will be the 2.5-liter Skayactiv-G four-cylinder engine, which is rated at 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The spark-controlled compression ignition Skyactiv-X engine will find its way into the vehicle eventually, although Mazda’s not yet sure when.

Standard equipment on the 2019 Mazda3 includes an 8.8-inch widescreen display, an 8-speaker audio system, a 7-inch TFT gauge cluster display, remote keyless entry with push-button start, two USB ports, LED headlights and taillights, 16-inch alloy wheels and more.

The ‘Select’ package adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels and a suite of driver assist systems including radar cruise control with stop and go, emergency brake assist and driver attention alert.

The mid-level Preferred trim adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system, Sirius satellite radio, an 8-way power driver’s seat and heated front seats.

Finally, the range-topping Premium trim adds luxury equipment like leather seats, a power moonroof, adaptive front lighting, 18-inch gloss black wheels and paddle shifters for the automatic transmission.

Sales for the 2019 Mazda3 will begin in March 2019.
