Pricing has been released for the cheaper, 2023 Volkswagen ID.4.

We’ve got pricing numbers for the new ID.4, which now has the option of a smaller, cheaper battery. For $43,995 CAD or $37,495 USD, a base model ID.4 can be yours. Not including destination charges, the ID.4 Standard trim is around $3,735 USD or $4,000 CAD cheaper than the next model grade up, the ID.4 Pro. The ID.4 Pro will start at $42,495 USD, or $47,995 CAD.

This new price-leading model is equipped with a smaller 62 kWh battery and is only available with a single motor, rear-wheel-drive setup. By comparison, the ID.4 Pro and higher trims, come with an 82 kWh battery pack and can be optioned with all-wheel-drive. The official estimated range of the smaller pack hasn’t been unveiled, but VW estimates the ID.4 Standard will be good for 208 miles, down from the 275 rating of the ID.4 Pro models with the 82 kWh battery pack. All RWD ID.4’s will be powered by the same 201 horsepower motor, mounted at the vehicle’s rear.

Officially now made in the US, the Volkswagen ID.4 has begun to roll off production lines in Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, TN manufacturing plant. The company plans to ramp up production to more than 7,000 cars per month in the near future. The new ID.4 standard is a big part of VW’s plan to get more EVs in North American driveways. The 2023 ID.4 Standard is expected to reach showrooms this fall.
