Afeela wants to put cars on the road by 2026.

We’ve reported multiple times that the Sony and Honda car collaboration would soon have a name, and a car to show off. Now, we know, at CES 2023, Afeela is here, in the form of a sleek fastback EV sedan full of technology.

Stylistically, the unnamed sedan by the new brand is sleek and smooth, with slightly cab-rearward proportions. The satin grey paint accentuates the clean side surfacing, and two-tone roof, something we saw on the original Sony Vision-S concept cars. On the front fascia, a video screen that houses the Afeela badging (called the “media bar”) can be used to play videos, graphics, or more, as a way for the driver to express themselves to others on the road. In all, the Afeela looks tidy, albeit maybe a bit reminiscent of the Lucid Air sedan.

Inside, the Afeela prototype has a yoke, and a bevy of screens that can be used for movies, gaming, or more.

The Afeela uses technology from Qualcomm and is full of sensors meant for driver assistance, and interesting augmented reality experiences. In fact, it seems like Afeela wants to focus more on the “experience” of the vehicle, as the brand has opted to focus heavily on cockpit technology and other things that aren’t so related to range, power, or driving dynamics.

We don’t know much about the Afeela sedan’s technical specifications, except that it will be ready for ordering in 2025, with deliveries starting in 2026. The sedan will be made at a Honda factory somewhere, but where exactly hasn’t been confirmed.
