Diesel engines are known for several things. Power and torque are the biggest attractions, but there is another attribute that drivers like. They can rack up a lot of mileage without needing major repairs - if you take proper care of them.

One of the systems that needs attention is the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system, which as most diesel owners know can be finicky and troublesome. The folks at Rislone have developed a new product to keep your DEF system from being the culprit in performance loss, or even worse - a costly breakdown. Starting off with a clean DEF system, you can keep it clean with Rislone’s Diesel DEF Treatment, an additive that helps prevent white urea crystal build up, which is a byproduct of DEF injection. Rislone DEF Treatment is an affordable, easy maintenance step you will truly appreciate when you don’t have to worry about avoidable mechanical issues. It’s a one-step solution for supercharging your DEF and turning into a maintenance/prevention fluid.

What is DEF?

DEF is a combination of vehicle-grade synthetic urea and de-ionized water that gets injected into a diesel’s exhaust. DEF breaks down the part of the exhaust emissions that are the most harmful, transforming it into non-hazardous nitrogen and water. This reduces the emissions by up to 90% and makes the motor pass select standards. Any modern diesel motor made after 2010 uses a DEF system.

The main issue with DEF is that urea, even synthetic urea, can and will crystalize, which can clog the DEF system. This includes the tank, sender, heater, lines, pump injector and mixer. It doesn’t take much to see why a repair in the system can get pricey in a hurry. Rislone developed a two-part system to help prevent issues, They designed a cleaner that you run through the system to dissolve any crystal build up, and they came up with a DEF treatment that you add every time you top off your DEF. The treatment not only helps keep the system clean, but also improves the performance of your DEF.

How it Works

Rislone’s new Diesel DEF Treatment works to inhibit the accumulation of harmful white deposits within your diesel’s Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and DEF system that can lead to expensive repairs – and by expensive, we mean $3,000+. It prevents AdBlue/DEF fluid crystallization and gives your DEF performance a major boost. This additive protects the DEF hardware components to helps keep things clean and working perfectly between system cleanings.

This product is perfect for diesel vehicles driven regularly at slow speeds, low loads, short durations, or that make frequent stops. These are more prone to having the problem of crystallization deposit build up in the SCR system. You simply add the Rislone Diesel DEF Treatment to the DEF fluid, following the directions for your vehicle size.

Diesel DEF Treatment works with all urea AdBlue DEF diesel exhaust fluids, so there is no need to switch from what you’re currently running. The results are the same across the board. Here’s a big kicker - It does not void your engine’s manufacturer warranty, giving you some added peace of mind when it comes to selecting maintenance items for your vehicle. This is a powerful and affordable product that should be part of your regular maintenance routine for your modern diesel motor.
