Lap records are coveted prizes among racers, and holding the record at a famous track like Laguna Seca in California or the Nurburgring in Germany is a large point of pride for drivers and automakers.

Recently, the fastest lap ever was completed around Laguna Seca in an older Ferrari F1 car, although the time recorded was unofficial, as it did not take place during official testing or a race. 1:05.78 is the new fastest time around the track, and after watching the footage, it is not hard to believe. The lap was completed by Spanish F1 driver Marc Gene.

Taken from a great perspective, the video lets you see things exactly as the driver sees them.
