Volvo is sexing up its European-market plug-in hybrid wagon with an R-Design package.

It still isn’t available in the U.S., but Volvo’s V60 plug-in hybrid station wagon will be all the more alluring for 2015. The Swedish auto maker plans to launch its plug-in hybrid effort in North America with the next XC90 crossover, which won’t arrive for more than a year.

Across the pond, the V60 plug-in hybrid can travel up to 31 miles purely on electric power. Total system output is 283 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque with up to a claimed 130 mpg on the European test cycle. That power comes from a 2.4-liter diesel engine mated to the hybrid components.

Those figures are the same with or without the R-Design package. Rather than boosting power, it adds a body kit, 18-inch wheels, sport seats with perforated leather upholstery and a black headliner.
