Infiniti Seeks Trademark on 'Eau Rouge' in US
Infiniti wants to lock down the rights to use the name Eau Rouge on an upcoming vehicle in the US.
Infiniti is already using the name on its Q50 Eau Rouge Concept car, which marries the Q50 sedan with the 550-hp engine from the GT-R. Production of this car has been rumored, but nothing, including the name, has been confirmed by Nissan.
There is also a chance that Eau Rouge will be tacked onto an upcoming halo car from Infiniti that would sell for upwards of $100,000. The brand has announced a mystery debut at the Paris Motor Show which is likely to be this flagship car, or at least a concept version.

According to the U.S. Patent Office, this application is still being considered for approval. The name Eau Rouge comes from a corner at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit, and a spokesman for the race track would not comment on whether or not they were alright with Infiniti’s application. In order to sell the car in Europe, Infiniti would have to make some type of deal with the race track, who already holds trademark for the name “L’Eau Rouge.”
