Jeep Concepts Run Wild in Las Vegas

Jeep enthusiasts have plenty to feast their eyes on at this year’s SEMA Show.

The American automaker brought five different concepts to Las Vegas, showcasing its new Renegade compact as well as the capabilities of its Wrangler and Cherokee models. Sporting a beach theme, the Renegade Riptide has been coated in a Vibrance Grandeur Blue shade that is contrasted by black wheels. Inside, the blue and white theme continues while teak floor mats play up the “surfs-up” motif that Jeep was aiming for.

The other Renegade concept is dubbed Frostbite and as its name hints, was built with a wintry theme in mind. A similar blue and white style can be found throughout the compact while a Mopar ski/snowboard roof rack helps securely transport cold-weather toys.

Wrangler fans will love what Jeep has done with the MOJO, with its Bright Orange exterior giving the off-road SUV an eye-catching appearance. Prototype Jeep Performance Parts shorty bumpers complement prototype flat-top fenders while 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires wrap prototype beadlock wheels. With the word prototype being tossed around on so many of the Wrangler MOJO’s accessories, it’s likely that Jeep is exploring production versions of all these accessories.

Speaking to the most hardcore of enthusiasts is the Jeep Maximum Performance, equipped with new Jeep Performance Parts-exclusive push-button electric-locking Dana 60 axles at the front and the rear. A four-inch lift kit from Jeep Performance Parts has also been installed, but again, it’s a prototype setup. Mopar Blue can be found inside and out with accent stitching for the interior along with satin trim on the instrument panel, shift knob and HVAC controls.

Lastly is the Jeep Cherokee Dakar, which the American automaker is billing “the most extreme Cherokee ever.” Outside is a Silver Steel satin finish that has been set off by Flame Red graphics. Trailhawk 17-inch wheels adorn each corner with a similar polished satin clear coat while the rest of the Cherokee has received off-road bits such as Jeep Performance Parts rock rails, an oil pan skid plate, front suspension skid plate, two-piece fuel tank and underbody skid plates.
