The Volvo XC90 Excellence will be priced from $105,895 including destination when it arrives this summer in the U.S.

This might be the most expensive model to ever be offered from Volvo, demanding over $60,000 more than the base-model XC90’s $44,945 price tag. For a more fair comparison, the XC90 T8 starts from $69,095, which is the model that the XC90 Excellence is based on. For the extra $36,800, the Volvo XC90 Excellence gains a plethora of luxury amenities.

For starters, the crossover tosses out its second- and third-row seating for recliners with massage function, ventilation, additional legroom and a center console with folding tables. There’s also a bottle refrigerator and crystal champagne flutes just like ultra-luxury brands Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The interior is decked out with fine Nappa leather, open-pore wood and 20 Bowers & Wilkins speakers. A limited number will be offered in the U.S., but the model will likely appeal to affluent shoppers in China who like being chauffeured, showing parent company Geely’s influence on the brand.

Powering the Volvo XC90 Excellence is the Swedish automaker’s turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter engine paired to an 87-horsepower electric motor. The twin-charged hybrid powertrain delivers a total system output of 400 hp and 472 pound-feet of torque.
