The Range Rover Sport is claiming to be the first-ever production vehicles to tackle the Inferno Mürren, one of the most challenging and oldest downhill ski race courses in the world.

With Ben Collins, Top Gear’s former ‘The Stig’ at the helm, the Range Rover Sport made it down the hill in 21 minutes and 36 seconds, and of course a film crew was on hand to document the feat. Propelling the Sport to this time is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 making 510 horsepower.

The descent totalled 7,119 feet and saw the Range Rover tackle snow, ice, loose rock, mud, grass and gravel. Top speeds included 75 mph on the ice and sleet at the top of the mountain and 96 mph on the wet grass near the bottom.

“This was genuinely one of the hardest tests I’ve faced in my driving career,” said Collins. “The route was insane and certainly the toughest course I’ve ever completed. It challenged you with every kind of obstacle this side of molten lava and as conditions go, it was about as bad as it gets – torrential weather mixed with cliffs, trees, all kinds of stuff you don’t really want to crash into.”

That was some of the best driving i have ever seen in my life from this guy. Ben Collins drives better than God. He represented 1/4 of the reason why i used to watch Top Gear and i think he deserves to have a high paying job on The Grand Tour
