Jaguar is teasing the new XF Sportbrake, better known as a station wagon here in North America.

All that can be gleaned from the teaser is that the XF wagon will have a panoramic glass roof, stretched out over its long frame. Along with the top-down shot of the new wagon, Jaguar also released a picture of its silhouette, painted onto the court at the world famous All England Lawn Tennis Club, host of the Wimbledon tournament.

“With XF Sportbrake we’ve created a silhouette which sweeps towards the rear, almost into the distance, and really gives the car a sense of speed and sportiness,” said Jag lead designed Ian Callum. “It will bring new levels of practicality to the range without sacrificing the dynamic design and agile handling our customers expect.”

Powertrain options are likely to stay the same as the XF sedan, which means a four-cylinder diesel will be the base choice while further up the range will offer a supercharged V6, likely with more than one power output available.

The new XF Sportbrake will go on sale in the U.S. later this year.
