Lexus Might Have a High Performance LS F in the Works

Lexus could have a high-performance LS F sedan in the works, if a leaked photo posted to social media is anything to go by.

The photo, posted to Instagram by Japanese components website JZSInternational, shows a hot-looking LS sedan with F appointments such as an aggressive looking front bumper, black side vents, side skirts and large black wheels. It certainly looks like the work of Lexus’ F performance division – but the lack of background information on the photo leaves us a bit skeptical.

Lexus is rumored to have a new 4.0-liter V8 engine in the works for the LC F, which is said to make as much as 600 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. If an LS F does come to fruition, we could see Lexus sticking this 4.0-liter in the front. The naturally aspirated 467 hp 5.0-liter V8 from the RC F doesn’t seem potent enough to properly motivate a performance version of the big LS, if you ask us.

A Lexus spokesperson said they “couldn’t confirm” whether or not an LS F will show up in Tokyo next month. That doesn’t mean it’s not coming, however, as automakers typically remain quiet in regards to future product. It’s possible an LS F is in the pipeline but isn’t destined for the Tokyo show. The LA and Detroit auto shows are also upcoming, so maybe we’ll see the performance LS debut in North America.
