Possibly overshadowing the debut of the Jaguar i-Pace and Range Rover SV Coupe, the British automaker also dropped a V8 into the F-Pace, officially making the F-Pace SVR that we’ve always wanted.

Here’s everything you need to know about this badass Jaguar F-Pace and why you should be excited about it.

Engine

Under the hood of this F-Pace is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque. Its the same thing you’d find in an F-Type R, and it’s always been a fan favorite.

Exhaust

But the thing about any Jaguar is how it sounds. The folks at Jaguar’s special vehicle operations gave the F-Pace SVR a unique variable valve active exhaust system that gives the crossover a unique soundtrack that will turn anyone in a 10-mile radius into a giggling mess (especially the driver). This exhaust setup is also 14.5 pounds lighter, meaning there’s some added performance boost here too.

0-60 Time and Top Speed

How hot is this Jag? The crossover hits highway speeds in about four seconds (60 mph in 4.1 seconds, 100 km/h in 4.3.) The F-Pace SVR packs a top speed of 176 mph (283km/h).

Gear Selector

Here’s an interesting tidbit — the F-Pace SVR has swapped out the rotary gear selector for a more traditional gear-stick, just like what’s found in the F-Type. Naturally, the crossover has some slick aluminum paddle shifters for when the driver wants to take control. They’re paired with a new sporty steering wheel.

Differential

The F-Pace gets a new rear electronic active differential to help optimize power delivery. It works in combination with other technologies and systems in the crossover like the all-wheel-drive system and electric power-assisted steering to ensure the crossover is responsive and engaging to drive.

Suspension

There have been some changes to the suspension system as well. The front springs are 30 percent stiffer while the rear ones are 10 percent. Jaguar says this results in a 5 percent reduction in body roll. The suspension is adaptive and adjustable as well changing to the selected drive mode.

Wheels

There are gorgeous new wheels available, in 21 or 22-inch sizes. It’s a staggered setup, meaning that the rear wheels are wider than the front, and these wheels are also lighter than the standard equipment on the F-Pace.

Interior

There are a few new things to note about the interior besides the new gear selector and steering wheel. The front seats feature more aggressive bolsters and provide additional support, while also featuring interesting “lozenge” quilted accents and an embossed SVR logo.

Price and Availability

Buyers will be able to get their hands on the new Jaguar F-Pace SVR this summer, for $80,985 including destination.

Service and Maintenance

Another interesting part of every new Jaguar purchase is the EliteCare, which includes 5-Year/60,000 Mile Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance.
