2019 Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Convertible Go on Sale Late 2018
Following the debut of the 2019 Mercedes C-Class Sedan at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the coupe and convertible models will debut in New York.
Like the four-door sedan, the two-door coupe and convertible get a new four-cylinder engine for the C300 model. The 2.0-liter turbocharged powerplant offers 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, allowing the coupe to go zero-to-60 mph in 5.9 seconds, while the convertible does the same sprint in 6.1 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 130 mph on both variants. Mated to the engine a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Like the sedan, the coupe and convertible lineup will initially feature the AMG C43 model, powered by a 3.0-liter V6 now producing 385 hp, compared to the outgoing model’s 362 hp. Peak torque measures 384 lb-ft and is available from 2,500 rpm to 5,000 rpm.
The front and rear ends have been reworked for a sportier appearance, while new light-alloy wheels and exterior paint colors have been added to the lineup. There are also newly standard LED high performance headlamps featuring a new design, while LED intelligent headlamps with ultra wide highbeam are available as an option.

Inside the cabin, there’s an enhanced interior with a larger 10.25-inch central infotainment display standard, while optionally available is a digital instrument cluster that measures 12.3 inches. The steering wheel has also been replaced with a new multifunction unit with Touch Control buttons.
As expected, the two-door models also benefit from the latest in driving assistance systems, allowing them to drive semi-autonomously in certain situations. The model comes with Active Brake Assist as standard, while the Driver Assistance Package now features Active Distance Assist Distronic, which gives the driver map-based support in numerous situations, as well as adjusting the speed of the vehicle when approaching bends, junctions, or roundabouts.
Both the C-Class Coupe and C-Class Cabriolet will make their world debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show, before going on sale in the U.S. by late 2018. Expect pricing to be announced closer to their launch.
