Jaguar’s first-ever series production electric vehicle, the I-Pace, has been priced from $70,495 in the United States including $995 in destination.

The Jaguar I-Pace is being presented to the public for the first time at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show this week. The EV features a 90 kWh battery, allowing for up to 240 miles of electric range. It can charge its battery to 80 percent capacity in 40 minutes using a 100 kW fast charger, or in 10 hours using a standard 230V charger. It also boasts a zippy 0-60 mph time of 4.5s and a top speed of 124 mph.

Starting at just over $70,000, the I-Pace undercuts its only true competitor, the $79,500 Tesla Model X, by a significant margin. Customers will forego access to Tesla’s Supercharger network if they opt for the less expensive Jaguar, but if they have fast chargers nearby and don’t plan on taking their I-Pace outside of a city or town center very frequently, charging network coverage may be less of priority. Jaguar is also working on expanding its EV infrastructure in order to better serve I-Pace customers.

“In partnership with our retailers who are investing in new facilities and EV infrastructure, we have a proactive market strategy ed by very competitive pricing and the Jaguar EliteCare electric vehicle ownership package,” said Jaguar North America boss Joe Eberhardt. “We think the entire journey of buying, owning and driving an I-PACE will be one our customers will love for life.”

Jaguar dealerships will begin taking customer orders for the I-Pace on March 1st. First deliveries will commence in the second half of the year.
