Ford Ranger Raptor to Go on Sale in Europe Next Year

Ford presented the Ranger Raptor for Thailand, Australia and other Australasian markets earlier this year, but now the American automaker has shown off the version of the off-road focused performance pickup that will arrive in the UK, Germany and other EU countries.

Under the hood of the Euro-spec Ranger Raptor is a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged diesel engine, which is making 210 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the oil-burning four-pot is a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive with Ford’s Terrain Management System. Ford Stability Control is also present, which includes a Roll Mitigation Function, along with Electronic Stability Control, Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control and Load Adaptive Control.
Helping to slow things down are large 13-inch brake discs at all four corners.

The chassis gets the same add-ons that help the global Ranger Raptor along off-road including Fox Racing shocks, coilover rear suspension with a Watt’s link, heavy duty aluminium control arms, front and rear skid plates and all-terrain BF Goodrich tires.

Inside the truck gets bolstered sports seats with suede-effect accents, blue contrasting stitching, metal paddle shifters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a 12 o’clock marking and ‘Raptor’ logos on the steering wheel and seatbacks.

While the Euro-spec Ranger Raptor is identical to the version for Australia and other surrounding markets, its debut makes it clear that this is a global product for Ford. The Blue Oval probably wouldn’t develop a truck for Europe and Australi and not put it on sale in the world’s number on truck market – America. It remains to be seen what engine a US-spec Ranger Raptor might come with, however, or when it may arrive.

As for the Euro-spec Ranger Raptor, interested customers can expect to see it land on Ford lots early next year. Pricing has yet to be announced, but with the truck set to sell for $75,000 AUD in Australia, a starting price of around 48,000 euros doesn’t seem far off the mark. The truck will also be playable in the upcoming Forza Horizon 4 video game for PC and Xbox, which is set to land on October 2nd.
