The 508-hp Volvo S60 Polestar Concept will be making its North American debut later this month at the 2012 LA Auto Show.

Powered by a turbocharged, inline-six cylinder engine, the S60 Polestar Concept packs a punch with 508 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque, a vast improvement over the factory S60 with 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Along with the flashy Rebel Blue paint job, the Swedish automaker and its tuning partner outfitted the S60 with Ohlins suspension to go along with its lowered, widened, and reinforced chassis.

Volvo’s performance partner since 1996, Polestar offers tuning technology and parts enhancement to various models from the Swedish automaker.

“This is Polestar’s interpretation of the Volvo S60,” says Christian Dahl, founder and CEO of Polestar. “It’s a car developed with our own preferences in mind — although we know they are also shared by active drivers.”
