Fiat 500e Recalled to Replace Half-Shaft Bolts
Fiat has issued a recall for its 500e electric car in order to replace bolts that secure the EV’s half shafts.
Over 270 vehicles are affected by the recall, which was discovered when engineers found two assembly steps had not been properly completed. In the worst case scenario, the half shafts (more commonly known as axles) on the 500e could separate, though the automaker confirmed that it is unaware of any related accidents or injuries.

Fiat will perform the fix at no cost to customers and will offer rental cars to owners while their vehicles are being repaired.
