Jaguar XE Production Officially Begins
Production of the all-new 2016 Jaguar XE has begun in England.
The British automaker’s new BMW 3 Series rival will be produced at the company’s Solihull plant and will be the first Jaguar model ever assembled there. The factory is formerly known as the “home of Land Rover” and will also be the production site for the upcoming F-Pace SUV. According to Jaguar, U.K.-based suppliers have been given £4 billion ($5.87 billion) in contracts to support production of the new sedan and those suppliers will be responsible for up to 55 percent of the car’s components.

In the last five years, the Solihull plant in West Midlands has nearly doubled its workforce to 32,000 employees and Jaguar is predicting that it will sell over 100,000 XE sedans worldwide annually. The 2016 Jaguar XE was revealed last year in September and will arrive U.S. dealerships in 2016, serving as the brand’s entry-level model.

Looking forward to seeing this car on the market, all news so far is positive regarding driving experience. Also great to see the Ingenium 2.0l Turbo for the first time - no more using the old Ford derived engined.
