Ferrari F12 GTO Rumored for September Launch
Rumor has it that the Ferrari F12 GTO will debut in Frankfurt this September.
Recently, spy photos emerged showing Ferrari testing an updated Ferrari F12 model, which was assumed to be the 2017 model. Instead, it appears that the Italian automaker is working on a Ferrari F12 GTO model featuring a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine with around 800 hp. Although it’s unconfirmed, rumor has it that the LaFerrari’s HY-KERS system could find its way to the F12 GTO model among other technologies used in the hybrid supercar.

Along with the additional performance from the engine, expect Ferrari to shed at least 220 lbs compared to the current F12 Berlinetta, meaning it’ll weigh around 3,119 lbs. On the outside, it’ll have more aggressive styling than the traditional F12 model, warranting the addition of the GTO nameplate. Production of the Ferrari F12 GTO will be reportedly be limited to 650 units and customer deliveries will begin in the second quarter of 2016.
