Maserati Levante Pricing to Start at $72,000
Pricing for the Maserati Levante SUV has been announced, and the luxury SUV will start at $72,000 in the U.S.
The Italian automaker’s first SUV will be available to buyers in late summer of 2016 and the $72,000 starting price will get drivers the 345-horsepower base model. Upgrading to the 424-hp Levante S will cost $83,000 and orders for both will begin this April. All prices do not include delivery and destination.
The pricing puts the base Levante in the middle of the base Cayenne and the Cayenne S, while the upgraded S costs a bit more than a supercharged Range Rover Sport.

The Levante is powered by two versions of a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 built by Ferrari and power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Torque for the 345-hp model is reported to be 442 pound-feet, but no official figure has been released yet. Accelerating from a standstill to 62 mph in the S model will take 5.2 seconds, while the standard Levante will do it in 6.0 seconds. A hybrid is also in the works, and a diesel engine will also likely be available, but probably not in the U.S.
The Levante will make its U.S. debut next week at the New York Auto Show.
