The Mitsubishi Grand Tourer Concept has been teased and will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in late September.

Designed to be an upmarket SUV, the Mitsubishi Grand Tourer Concept will also preview the automaker’s future design language. According to Mitsubishi, the concept will be “the latest expression of Mitsubishi Motors’ design ambitions, expressed through four powerful elements: Augmented Possibilities, Functional Beauty, Solid Thrust and Japanese Craftsmanship.”

It will also be the focus of Mitsubishi’s latest plug-in hybrid technology and promises to be a combination of advanced driving technologies combined with the latest Japanese design trends and quality.

The teaser photo shows a coupe-styled SUV with a narrow profile and muscular styling. The new concept will debut as the automaker is in the midst of a fuel scandal, where it lied on emissions data on cars in Japan. Since its admittance, Nissan has purchased a controlling 34-percent stake in Mitsubishi.
