Porsche Cayenne Coupe is Coming and We Have the Spy Photos to Prove It

“Coupe” SUVs are seriously on trend right now, and it looks like Porsche is going to jump on the bandwagon with a Cayenne Coupe to compete with the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe.

Spy photographers have caught a coupe version of the German automaker’s popular large SUV testing with a raked roofline for the first time. Looking like a taller and jacked-up Panamera with 911 tail lights, this mule gives us a preview of what a Cayenne Coupe could look like.

The coupe version of the SUV will likely have the same powertrain and trim options as the regular Cayenne, but will probably be sold at a premium and focus more on sporty driving dynamics. Coupe-ified versions of SUVs are typically more expensive, despite not being as practical.

A new, third-generation Cayenne built on a new platform is expected to debut in 2017 as a 2018 model year vehicle, and the coupe version will probably debut a year after that.

As a Cayenne owner, I think this is a mistake! Coupe-SUV's have very little cargo capacity!

Looks like a blown up Panamera instead of a shrunken Cayenne.
