If you’re a fan of classic Volkswagen s, this LEGO creation is perfect for you.

Trying to garner support on the LEGO Ideas website is a Volkswagen Golf MK1 GTI creation, consisting of 1,278 pieces. It’s roughly comparable in size to the existing 1,167-piece Volkswagen Beetle model. Like other LEGO Ideas, the Volkswagen Golf MK1 GTI needs 10,000 supporters before it can move onto the next stage and at the time of this article, it has 1,426 supporters with 588 days left.

There are plenty of little details to make this creation as authentic as possible, including custom stickers that recreate the GTI’s steering wheel and center stack. There are even striped seats, although we would prefer to see the classic Volkswagen plaid pattern.

If you’re hoping to see the Volkswagen Golf MK1 GTI make it to production, support the project at the source link below.
