The next Range Rover Sport variant has been spied cold weather testing in Sweden.

Land Rover is looking to take advantage of the booming luxury crossover and SUV segment by adding the Range Rover Sport Coupe model to its lineup. Although the prototype is still heavily camouflaged, the sloping rear roofline peeking through gives the model a coupe-like appearance, like the BMW X6. The front end appears to look slightly different than the facelifted Range Rover Sport, which will help further differentiate the two models.

Expect the interior to mostly resemble what’s found in the existing Range Rover Sport, as well as its powertrain options, which means a wide range of engines starting with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ingenium offering and ending with a powerful 5.0-liter supercharged V8 found in the SVR model. At least in Europe, Land Rover will offer diesel options and a plug-in hybrid is a possibility.
