The Smallest Rolls-Royce is a Heartwarming Story

Rolls-Royce hopes its latest creation can help put a smile on a kid’s face.

Created specifically for the St Richard’s Hospital Pediatric Day Surgery Unit, the Rolls-Royce SRH will allow children awaiting surgery to drive themselves to the operating room, through the Pediatric Unit corridors lined with “traffic signs.” The hospital hopes the Rolls-Royce SRH and the driving experience will help reduce child patient stress.

Developed from the ground-up by Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke Manufacturing team, the SRH features a two-tone paint scheme of Andalusian White and Salamanca Blue, finished with a hand-applied St James Red coachline. And like road-going Rolls-Royce vehicles, the SRH has a two-tone steering wheel, seats and self-righting wheel center caps, perfectly color-matched to the St James Red coachline.

In total, the team spent over 400 hours of their own time to developing and hand-crafting the small Rolls-Royce.

To keep things safe, it has a top speed of 10 mph and power comes from a 24-volt gel battery. The speed setting is actually variable and can be set to 4 mph.

“We are a proud member of the community here in West Sussex. The Pediatric Unit at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester does such vital work in providing essential care to young people and their families,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “We hope that the Rolls‑Royce SRH will serve to make the experience for young people during treatment a little less stressful.”

Very nice! I grew up as a Rolls Royce fan - of American ones, built in Springfield Massachusetts and Long Island City (NYC) mainly in the 1920's. What RR did here is very special!
