Ram 1500 Fourth Teaser Image Released Ahead of New York Auto Show Debut

The latest teaser image features two more macro shots, this time of what looks to be the interior trim of the Ram truck – the first of an interior light, the second of a piece of trim from the dashboard. While teaser images are considered by many automakers to be a fun and effective marketing trick to raise awareness and excitement, these obscure images fail to convey exactly what we should expect from the next generation Ram. Its official reveal will be during the New York International Show and we will share more substantial information regarding the new truck later in the week.

Alcatraz Season Finale 'Bullitt' Car Chase Re-creation - Video
A pioneer in modern cinema, director Peter Yates received critical acclaim for the camera work and editing done for the car chase in the 1968 movie Bullitt

Starring Steve McQueen, the Ford Mustang, the Dodge Charger, as well as the hilly streets of San Francisco as the backdrop for the chase, Columbia University professor Emanuel Levy praised, “Bullitt contains one of the most exciting car chases in film history, a sequence that revolutionized Hollywood’s standards.”

Since then, many filmmakers have used Bullitt as a benchmark, applying its techniques to produce car chase sequences of their own. However, no director has attempted to re-create the complete Bullitt sequence again –  until now.

For the season finale of Alcatraz, Detective Madsen stops and requisitions a Deep Impact Blue 2013 Mustang GT coupe and chases down a black Dodge Charger that is driven by her convict grandfather. Symmetry to the original Bullitt play throughout the chase, including scenes of the Mustang’s appearance in the Charger’s rearview mirror, the driver in the black Charger clipping the seatbelt, the iconic reverse burnout, the hill hops, as well as the old Volkswagen Beetle that makes multiple and non-linear appearances.

Check out the entire chase sequence from the season finale of Alcatraz below.

Dodge Challenger SRT Limousine Is The Ultimate "Ready To Party" Ride – Video

Making an appearance at the 2012 Spring Festival of LXs in Irvine, CA, the “Ready To Party” Dodge Challenger SRT limousine looked like it was going to rock and roll all night (and of course, party every day).

We love us some crazy limos, and this one is no exception. Philip Eiselin, president of LA Custom Coach, said he started with a picture of the Dodge Challenger, stretched it on a computer and liked what he saw. Eiselin bought one and went to work, taking the interior out, cutting it in half, and four and a half months later, the Challenger SRT limo was born.

In the video below, you’re treated to a tour of the Challenger limo’s interior, which is decked out in black and red leather, adorned with red SRT stripes, and complete with 24” and 10”LED TVs, a color-changing light show and a full bar.

Eiselin says it’s the first of its kind, but not the last. He took the partymobile down to Vegas where it received a considerable amount of attention… which is no surprise.

It's Viper Versus Cobra Attack Helicopter On Top Gear USA

The American version of BBC’s Top Gear has released a video taken from the debut episode of the first season. This footage features a dramatic chase between a Dodge Viper SRT and a Cobra attack helicopter.

The challenge was for hosts Tanner Foust and Rutledge Wood to take the Viper on a 10 mile round trip through Griffin, Georgia, all while being hunted by the Cobra. Just like a video game, the Viper had three lives to make it to the finish line. If the Cobra got close enough for the kill three times, game over. The Viper tries to outrun, outwit and out maneuver the Cobra – it even tries to hide out in a car wash and a cemetery in an effort to shake the Cobra off its tail.

We won’t give away anymore spoilers, you can watch it for yourself below.

Dodge Viper ACR-X Sets 7:03 Nurburgring Lap Time – Video

While we anxiously await the new SRT Viper to finally make its debut at the upcoming New York International Auto Show, it appears that Dodge wants to remind us just how powerful its previous iteration of the Viper was.

The Viper Club of America has released a new video showcasing the race-only Viper ACR-X taking on the Nürburgring with a lap time of 7:03.058, which is almost 10 seconds faster than the street-legal Viper ACR, which depending on who you ask is the current production car record holder.

For a race-only production car, the ACR-X has an impressive time, but it’s no the fastest – not even close. Depending on how obscure you prefer your exotic cars, the Ferrari 599XX managed a 6:58, the Radical SR8LM has posted a 6:48 lap time in the past and the Pagani Zonda R tops them all with a blistering 6:47 time.

RAM Jumps on Ford-Bashing Bandwagon in New Ad – Video

The Chevrolet Silverado super bowl ad caused quite a controversy, as Ford didn’t see the lighthearted fun in the spot which suggests that Chevys are the only trucks which could survive the apocalypse, and that anyone driving a Ford wouldn’t make it.

It seems that Ram trucks also wants to join in the Ford bashing, recently releasing a commercial of its own that speaks quite negatively of Ford trucks. The question posed in the spot is, what if you were to take away horsepower, torque and warranty coverage from a Ram? “Well,” says the rough and manly voice-over, “you’d end up with a  Ford F-150.”

Whether Ram and Chevy were in cahoots when producing these ads, we don’t know. And why Ford is the butt of all these jokes, we can only assume because the F-150 is such a successful seller and its competition is a little jealous.

Originally, Ford had said that it was going to take Chevy to court over the ad, saying that the reliability claims in the commercial were inaccurate. It seems the lawsuit was not followed through however, which begs the question, how will Ford answer its rivals?

Watch the ad after the jump.

Sports Illustrated Bikini Model Undresses Laramie Limited in Video

There’s a new teaser video for the RAM Laramie Limited pickup on YouTube, featuring the same scantly clad bikini babe as last week, but with more automotive footage.

Dodge‘s truck division released a teaser video last week, but the footage showed little more than a bodacious bikini model stepping from the ocean.

Captions after the actual video revealed that the new line will be featured in conjunction with this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, but that was all the info we got.

It turns out that the footage is of RAM’s new Laramie Limited pickup, which we reported on during our coverage of this year’s Chicago Auto Show. Coincidentally, our pictures have a pretty girl in them too, but we’re guessing our photos probably can’t compete with a soaking-wet supermodel, so have a look for yourself after the jump.

"The Dark Side of Ram" Teaser Released [Video]

Dodge is jumping on the bikini band wagon, but can you blame them? There’s no denying that sex sells, especially with most of the pickup truck crowd.

That’s why Ram pairing up with Sports Illustrated and releasing a teaser ad just makes sense. The 37-second spot features a slender woman clad in diving gear and a black bikini walking out of the ocean and pulling a cloth from a Ram pickup. Nearly all the footage focuses directly on the model. The ad actually cuts out before you see more than a silhouette, but it’s got us wondering what’s up the shirt sleeves over at the Ram division.
