Volvo XC90 Refresh Spied Testing

The Volvo XC90 is moving to a new platform, gaining new engines, and getting new style. AutoGuide.com’s spy photographers snapped some pictures of a mule for the new XC90 out testing in the snow.

The photos show off the shell of an XC70, but this is just a ruse to hide what is going on underneath. The rear doors look a little too long for an XC70, and the fuel filler cap is placed directly over the rear wheel arch, both signs that this XC70 has an especially long wheelbase, tipping off the fact that it is an XC90 mule.

A new flexible platform known as SPA will be put to use first in the XC90, and will eventually underpin more vehicles from the Swedish automaker.

Under the hood, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine will almost certainly provide power for the new XC90, and will likely be linked to an eight-speed automatic.

If the length of this mule is any indication, the XC90 may be growing a little bit, and should still be available with seating capacity for seven.

Though it was originally set to arrive in late 2014, the XC90 is know expected sometime in early 2015.

This design is really no Volvo, seems a Land rover evoque, and the front of the new XC60 is like a Volkswagen, Please dont make Volvo loose its identity!
