Range Rover Sport to Be Official Pace Car at Pikes Peak

The new 2014 Range Rover Sport has been named the official pace car for the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 30, 2013.

The 2014 Range Rover Sport recently set a record on Pikes Peak for a production-standard SUV with Paul Dallenbach behind the wheel. Dallenbach will be piloting the Rhys Millen Racing Hyundai Genesis Coupe in the event this year, the same car that currently holds the record for the event.

In Dallenbach’s record-setting run, the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 Range Rover Sport averaged 59.17 mph over the 12.42-mile course. Dallenbach clocked in the run at 12:35.61.
