The Chicago Auto Show is usually a pretty sleepy event. Automakers tend to reserve their most-important reveals for Detroit, Los Angeles or New York. Still, Ford is making a bit of news here in the Windy City with its updated Transit Connect.

Generally there’s not a lot to get excited about with commercial vans, unless of course you’re a fleet operator, sub-contractor or anyone else in need of spacious transportation that doesn’t break the bank. If you fall into one of these camps there’s really never been a better time to buy.

Ford released fuel economy and power numbers for the all-new Transit Wagon that is replacing its old E-Series vans.

The Ford Transit Connect Wagon is as safe as can be, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Ford has announced that the 2014 Transit Connect Van has received an EPA-estimated 30 mpg highway rating.

Ford has a thing or two to say about Nissan‘s NV200 “Taxi of Tomorrow,” dubbing its 2014 Ford Transit Connect Taxi the “Taxi of the Future.”

To test high-impact situations that may be too taxing for human drivers, Ford has developed a robotic system for testing trucks and cargo vans.

Just in time for the Holidays, Ford has crafted a Transit Connect Wagon Sleigh just for Santa, citing its fuel economy as the main reason why Santa would want one.

At the introduction of the 2014 Ford Transit commercial vehicle last week, the brand suggested that the Transit Connect and people-mover Wagon may also get diesel power in the near future. 

Ford has just unveiled its newest people or cargo hauler, the Transit Connect Wagon, capable of seating seven passengers and rated to haul 1,200 pounds of payload.
