Smart has been an interesting experiment in urban mobility. On paper, these tiny runabouts are an ideal transportation option for residents of densely packed megalopolises around the world.

Daimler’s smart car is a tiny runabout that was designed to offer generous fuel efficiency, youthful quirk and easier maneuverability than a shopping cart.

Daimler’s redesigned smart car made its North American debut in Manhattan on the eve of the New York Auto Show.

Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler is readying a new three-cylinder engine that will be put to work in the next generation Smart ForTwo, and to gain some insight, the German company sought advice from Ford.

The crazy smart forjeremy, which may have drank one too many Red Bulls, is heading to production – wings included.

Daimler’s smart brand has partnered with BoConcept, a Danish interior design company to produce special furniture and accessories. A jazzed up fortwo cabrio is also a result of their cooperation.

In an effort to jazz up its lame lineup, the folks at smart showed off a new special-edition model at the Detroit Auto Show today. The cityflame package is the latest in a long line of special models from Daimler’s economy-minded brand.

When the next generation Smart fortwo is unveiled, its proportions will be growing to help improve both safety, and passenger usability.

The Smart fortwo is getting a dose of style thanks to a new package called “cityflame,” which adds yellow and black accents on the interior and exterior of the car. 

Smart just announced pricing for its ForTwo Electric Drive, making it the cheapest electric car on the market today at $25,825

Entering its third generation and built in partnership with French automaker Renault, spy photos of the next Smart ForTwo have just surfaced.
