Cody Loveland and LoveFab will be joining this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with their 1991 Acura NSX, looking to prove that you can teach an old car new tricks.

The company LoveFab and its owner Cody Loveland have built a reputation off the NSX model, so it was only fitting that once the company was invited to compete in the Pikes Peak Unlimited class that Loveland would transform his own NSX to a complete race car to take on the challenge. The original goals for the NSX was to have over 1,000-hp and weigh in at around 2200 lbs, though it appears that – for the sake of traction – the NSX will pack around 850-hp.

Focus on the aerodynamics of the race car is obvious too, just by taking a look at the radical design of its carbon fiber body. It’ll be rolling on none other than HRE Wheels as it takes on the infamous Hill Climb on August 12th, which was originally postponed due to the wild fires in Colorado. The team has already put the NSX to the test out in Michigan, and they look forward to the challenge ahead of them.
