Chrysler is paying homage to Motown, a genre of music associated exclusively with Detroit, with a new TV spot that features Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown, along with the announcement of a new 300 Motown Edition.

The commercial, entitled “Who We Are,” shows off the new Motown edition 300, as well announcing a new Broadway musical celebrating Motown.

To give the Motown soul to the 300, it gets bright chrome front and rear fascia accents, mirror caps, door handles and daylight-opening surround, and a Mopar bright chrome grille with seven sculpted horizontal blades. Chrysler winged badges as well as Motown badging, along with 20-inch polished “heritage” wheels complete the look.

Inside, along with 100 pre-loaded Motown tracks on the stereo, the 300 gets white Nappa leather seats with black contrasting piping and stitching, debossed Motown logos in the seatbacks, and Black Olive Ash wood trim and satin silver accents to round out the package.

To play the Motown tracks, the 300 special edition has the option of a 10-speaker Beats Audio system with 12-channel amplifier.

The Chrysler 300 Motown edition will hit dealerships in the spring of 2013, and has an MSRP of $32,995.
