Cadillac is expected to reveal a coupe version of its ATS compact luxury sedan during the Detroit Auto Show next January.

According to a recent report, the debut will bring a two-door version of the ATS offered with the same three engine variants packaged in the sedan. Those include a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated base engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6. Cadillac is expected to start selling the car sometime in the summer of next year.

In sedan form, the 2.0-liter turbocharged ATS can come with a six-speed manual transmission. With the new generation, the CTS grew to better match mid-size German luxury sedans, but the wagon and coupe versions carried forward with almost no change. Cadillac is expected to discontinue the less popular versions of the CTS, although it isn’t clear when that will happen. If it does, the ATS coupe would be the only two-door model in the wreathe and shield brand’s portfolio.

Great News - I like a 2 door and Cadillac is the only US offering with the CTS. However, the CTS 2 door may be discontinued. At least the ATS will be there. I just may give up my 2000 Eldo ETC.
