The all-new 2015 Lamborghini Huracán is currently available with four-wheel drive exclusively, but more variants are in the pipeline.

A rear-wheel drive model is in the works according to company CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “We did it with the Gallardo so it might be an option,” Winkelmann told Autocar. “We are a four-wheel-drive super-sports car [manufacturer] but why should we not do a rear-drive option?”

But different versions of the Huracán won’t stop there. “We need lots of derivatives. Customers expect it and we always need something new to talk about,” he said. Expect an open-top spyder model of the Huracán to arrive sometime next year, while a lighter more hardcore version is likely to eventually arrive as well.

In the case of the Gallardo, only a few hundred rear-drive models were built, a trend that is likely to stay the same for the Huracán.
