Fiat Chrysler CEO Impressed by Elon Musk
At least one automaker CEO is “incredibly impressed” with what Elon Musk has done with Tesla.
Sergio Marchionne, who has an impressive resume himself as the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, recently visited the CEOs of Tesla and Apple during a trip to California. Speaking to Reuters about Musk, Marchionne said “I’m incredibly impressed with what that kid has done.” As for Apple, Marchionne didn’t confirm rumors that Apple is working on its own car but did say that Apple CEO Tim Cook is “interested in Apple’s intervention in the car, that’s his role.”

In his trip to California, Marchionne also stopped by Google and took a ride in the tech giant’s self-driving car. Although Marchionne wouldn’t go into detail on the reasoning behind his trips, numerous automakers have expressed interest in working with Apple and Google to integrate their technologies into production vehicles. As for why Marchionne stopped by Tesla, well, let the rumors commence.
