Spy photographers have caught the Audi E-Tron Quattro testing with light camouflage in Germany.

The upcoming all-electric crossover is set to compete with the Tesla Model X, and the latest prototype looks to be a near-production test car. Audi first previewed the crossover with the E-Tron Concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and since then, spy photographers have caught it on camera testing numerous times with different stages of camouflage. Compared to the original concept, the overall design of the production model looks to be sharper and gains styling influences from the new Audi A8.

Overall the production Audi E-Tron Quattro is a bit toned down compared to its concepts, but that’s expected. Details on the powertrain are still unknown, but the E-Tron Quattro is said to deliver a range of up to 310 miles. Look for more details to be released later this year.

Rumors say Audi is also preparing a four-door coupe version for 2019, while a sedan to compete with the Tesla Model S is also a possibility in the near future.
